Round 2 of 16

The Fork

📋 What it is

A fork creates TWO threats at once, so your opponent can only block one — and you win with the other.

🗣️ Coach says

The killer move in almost every line game: set up two winning threats in one move. Your opponent can block only one; you complete the other. Look for spots where a single disc opens two lines.

🧠 Memory hook

Two threats, one move. They block one, you win the other.

😂 Giggle

Why did the strategy game player always plan ahead?
Because thinking one move deep is thinking one move short!

😲 Whoa!

A "double threat" fork is unstoppable — no matter which one your opponent blocks, you complete the other next turn.

✅ Quick check: Why is a fork (double threat) almost impossible to defend against?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Set up a position with two three-in-a-rows that share an empty winning square.

🤸 Brain break: Two forks: point two fingers in different directions at once — both are threats.
