Reversi Basics
📋 What it is
Reversi: flip your opponent’s pieces by trapping a line of them between two of yours; most pieces at the end wins.
🗣️ Coach says
Reversi flips the script — pieces change colour constantly. Bracket a straight line of the opponent’s pieces between two of yours and they all become yours. Because pieces flip, having the MOST early often means little.
🧠 Memory hook
Trap a line to flip it. Early lead means little — pieces keep flipping.
😂 Giggle
Why did the double threat always win?
Because you can't block two winning moves at once!
😲 Whoa!
In Reversi it’s common to have very FEW pieces in the middle of the game and still win — flips reverse everything late.
✅ Quick check: Why is having the most pieces in the MIDDLE of a Reversi game not a reliable lead?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
Because pieces constantly flip colour, so a majority now can reverse quickly — only the final count decides.
The counter-intuitive flipping is the heart of Reversi strategy.
