Round 11 of 16

Mobility & Territory

📋 What it is

Mobility means keeping many good moves available; limiting your opponent’s moves forces them into bad ones.

🗣️ Coach says

Great territory players don’t just grab squares — they manage MOBILITY. Keep your own options open while shrinking the opponent’s, until they’re forced to hand you a corner or a big flip. Squeeze, don’t grab.

🧠 Memory hook

Keep YOUR options open, shrink THEIRS. Squeeze, don’t grab.

😂 Giggle

Why did the center column matter in Connect Four?
Because it connects to the most possible lines!

😲 Whoa!

A player with only one legal move must make it — even if it loses — which is why limiting mobility is so powerful.

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

In a game, count your available moves vs your opponent’s — who has more freedom?
