About IsleForge

IsleForge is a trade-and-build game for ages 9–14 — the first game in the collection that is really about the deal between players. You settle the island of Gullwick, roll for goods, trade for what you're missing, and build toward 8. Play against three island characters, or pass the device around a table of 2–4.

The island is home

Gullwick's islanders are rebuilding their harbour after the Great Storm. There is no land to conquer and no one to rob — just neighbours deciding, together, how to rebuild. The board, its goods, and its dice numbers are all our own; it is not a copy of any commercial game. And when a 7 rolls, no one is robbed: the Commons shares surplus with whoever has the least. The island rebuilds together.

Meet the islanders

  • Mason — builds halls — turns two goods into one strong urban corner (the urban builder)
  • Vera — trades constantly — never sits on spares; the gains-from-trade heart of the island
  • Rafi — roams for the longest run of roads — connects the island corner to corner
  • Anja — tends the Commons and the Lighthouse — shares so no islander is left short
  • Zara — (coach) the envoy — helps you shape a fair offer and know when to walk away
  • Idris — (coach) the surveyor — reads the island and finds the strongest cornerstone

Each islander plays to their own idea, so no two games feel the same. Illustrated stories for each are on the way.

Think it over

After a few games, notice this: the best players aren't the ones who hoard — they're the ones who make fair deals. When did giving away a spare good actually help you win? Naming that — that a good trade moves both sides forward — is the real skill IsleForge builds.

Every board, every payout, and every bot decision is computed by a small, exact, deterministic engine (pinned by automated tests), so a game is fair and identical on any device. The island characters are scripted — there is no chatbot and nothing you do leaves your device (no account, no tracking). Honest note: IsleForge builds gains-from-trade reasoning and dice-pip probability sense through play — it makes no exam or skill-transfer claim.
