About IslePals

IslePals is a first trade-and-build game for ages 6–8 — a gentle, younger cousin of our bigger island game. You build cottages on little Gullwick, roll for goods, and make a fair swap for what you're missing. Play with two friendly island pals, or pass the tablet around a table of 2–3.

The island is home

Gullwick's pals are rebuilding after a storm. There is no land to take and no one to rob — just friends deciding, together, how to share what they gather. The board and its goods are all our own; it is not a copy of any store-bought game. And when a 7 rolls, nobody is robbed: the Commons shares from whoever has the most to whoever has the least. The island shares.

Meet the island pals

  • Gully — calls the market — "who needs wood? who has grain?" — and helps you spot a fair swap (the host of little Gullwick)
  • Gilly — loves to swap — never sits on spare goods; shows how a good trade helps both islanders
  • Ambo — the sharer — tends the Commons and the Bridge so no islander is ever left short
  • Poppa Pike — the bridge-builder — cheers every islander who helps lay a plank on the shared Bridge

Each pal plays their own friendly way. Illustrated stories for each are on the way.

Think it over

After a game or two, notice this: the pals who share and swap do just as well as anyone. When did giving away a spare good actually help you build? Seeing that — that a fair trade helps both islanders — is the little idea IslePals is really about.

Every board and every trade is worked out by a small, exact engine (checked by automated tests), so a game is fair on any device. The island pals are scripted — there is no chatbot, and nothing you do leaves your device (no account, no tracking). Honest note: IslePals builds fair give-and-get and counting-the-dots number sense through play — it makes no exam or skill claim.
