About MohsForge
MohsForge is a mineral-identification lab: an unknown specimen lands on the bench, and you identify it the way a museum curator does — by running the real diagnostic tests and narrowing the candidates to one.
Why an identification bench?
The best natural-history museums have a whole hall of gems and minerals — and behind it, curators who identify specimens not by looking, but by properties as evidence: hardness, streak, luster, how it breaks, how heavy it is, whether it fizzes in acid or glows under UV. MohsForge turns that into a game where the mineral is really identifiable from its properties — the puzzle is always solvable, and the engine proves it (no two minerals in the bank share the same set of results).
What it's good for (and what we don't claim)
MohsForge is good practice for the diagnostic-key habit — using evidence to reach an identification — and for the properties of minerals (MS-PS1-2). It is not a brain-training program and makes no claim it raises IQ or test scores. It's a calm, honest way to think like a curator.
