The board has 24 narrow triangles called points; each player starts with 15 checkers in a fixed pattern.

Before any strategy, know the map. Twenty-four points in four quadrants; your 15 checkers start in the same set spots every game. Your job is to move all of them around into your "home board" and then off. Learn the starting picture and the rest makes sense.
