Round 12 of 16

Cube Strategy & Equity

📋 What it is

Equity is your expected result from a position; take a double when your equity says the game is still worth playing.

🗣️ Coach says

Equity is a fancy word for "on average, how will this turn out?" It combines your chance to win with how much you'd win or lose. When offered the cube, TAKE if your equity says you still win often enough (roughly a 1-in-4 chance or better); DROP if not.

🧠 Memory hook

Equity = average outcome. Take the cube if you still win often enough; drop if not.

😂 Giggle

Why did the back checkers feel patient?
Because sometimes waiting for the right roll beats rushing into danger!

😲 Whoa!

The famous "25% take point" — accept a double if you win at least about a quarter of the time — is one of the most useful numbers in all of games.

✅ Quick check: Roughly what winning chance do you usually need to correctly TAKE a double?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Estimate your winning chance in a position. Above ~25%? Take. Below? Drop. Explain your call.

🤸 Brain break: Quarter-check: split a circle with your hands into four — you need at least one quarter of the wins to take.
