Efficiency & Conservation

📋 What it is

Using less energy for the same result (efficiency) and using less overall (conservation) both save power.

🗣️ Coach says

Two ways to cut energy use: EFFICIENCY (get the same result with less — an LED for the same light as an old bulb) and CONSERVATION (simply using less — turning things off). Both save money and reduce pollution. The cheapest, cleanest energy is the energy you never have to make.

🧠 Memory hook

Efficiency = same result, less energy. Conservation = use less overall. Cheapest energy = the unused kind.

😂 Giggle

What did the power grid say during peak demand?
"I'm feeling a little overloaded right now!"

😲 Whoa!

Swapping one old bulb for an LED saves so much power that if everyone did it, the world could switch off hundreds of power plants.

✅ Quick check: What’s the difference between energy efficiency and conservation?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Find one efficiency win (LED, power strip) and one conservation habit (lights off) around you.

🤸 Brain break: Switch-off: mime flicking off lights and devices — conservation in action.
