How to use it

Why separate capture from shaping
The hardest part of writing for many students is the blank page. Splitting the work into a fast, judgement-free capture pass and a calm shaping pass — the "get a messy first draft down, then order it" move — lowers that barrier. Speaking ideas lowers it further for students who think faster than they type. We describe the rationale honestly and claim no measured writing outcome — RambleForge is a supportive tool, not an intervention.
About the microphone (opt-in, off by default)
Dictation uses the browser's built-in speech recognition, and it is opt-in: nothing listens until a student taps 🎤 Speak, and it stops on its own. On some browsers (e.g. Chrome) that recognition is processed in the cloud by the browser maker; on Apple devices it is on-device. So dictation is always optional and clearly labelled — typing works without it. We keep no audio and send nothing of our own anywhere; a draft is saved only on this device.
No pressure, no counting
There is deliberately no score, no streak, and no word-count. The shelf just holds the drafts you kept. Everything is on this device only, with no notifications.
