Rate Detective’s Confidence Ledger

Change by change, decide whether a rate goes up, goes down, or stays the same — then say how SURE you are. A careful hedge beats an over-confident miss.

Where this comes from

A rate is one thing measured against another — a speed, a price per item, a strength of a drink. A great rate detective isn’t the one who’s always right; it’s the one whose confidence matches how often they’re actually right, so they know which rate rules to trust and which sneaky ones (like “double both → no change”) to double-check. You can’t win by always saying “Sure”. Watch your calibration.

You bike the SAME distance to school, but this morning you pedal hard and get there in LESS time than usual.

Will how FAST you are going (your speed) go up, go down, or stay the same?
