Keeping score is real math 🧮

When you keep score, you do four big math jobs. Here they are.

1 · Tally — add this round

Each round a player scores some points. You add them to what they had before. Had 7, scored 8 more? Count on: 8, 9, 10… 15!

2 · Carry — cross a ten

When the ones fill up past 9, you carry a ten. 7 and 8 more makes 15 — that’s one ten and five ones. Carrying is how big numbers stay tidy.

3 · Compare — who’s ahead?

At the end you compare the totals. Who has the most? And how many more than the next player? Sometimes it’s a tie — two players with the same score!

4 · Graph — draw the game

A bar graph turns the scores into towers. The tallest tower is the leader. You can see who won just by looking.

Take your time. If a score isn’t right, ScorePals says “let’s count again” — mistakes are just part of learning. 💛
