Round 11 of 16

Threats & Defense

📋 What it is

Watch which of your pits the opponent could capture, and move to empty or protect them before they strike.

🗣️ Coach says

Defense is reading the enemy's captures. Each turn, check: can the opponent land a last seed in one of THEIR empty pits opposite one of YOUR full pits? If so, that pile is threatened. Empty it, add to it so it's no longer the exact count, or capture first. Protecting your stockpiles is half the game.

🧠 Memory hook

Spot which of your piles the enemy can capture next — then empty or protect it first.

😂 Giggle

Why is the last seed the star of every move?
Because only where IT lands decides if you capture!

😲 Whoa!

A big pile of seeds is a juicy target — experienced players often keep their seeds spread out or banked so the opponent never gets one giant capture.

✅ Quick check: How do you tell if one of your full pits is under threat of capture?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Look at your full pits and figure out which one the opponent could capture next. Defend it.
