Round 12 of 16

Opening Plans

📋 What it is

A good opening keeps seeds flexible, aims for early captures or extra turns, and avoids feeding the enemy.

🗣️ Coach says

The first moves matter. Strong openings look for a move whose last seed lands in your STORE (earning an extra turn) or sets up an early capture, while avoiding moves that dump lots of seeds onto the opponent's side. Getting an extra turn early can snowball into a lead.

🧠 Memory hook

Aim early moves at your store (extra turn!) or a capture; don't feed the enemy for free.

😂 Giggle

Why did the two seeds throw a party in the opponent's pit?
Because a landing that makes exactly two means capture time!

😲 Whoa!

In Kalah, landing your last seed in your own store earns an EXTRA turn — chaining several extra-turn moves at the start can build a big early lead.
