For grown-ups

How to use it

  • Once a day, help the child tap today (it's the highlighted square).
  • Pick one picture for how the day felt — happy, calm, sad, silly, sunny, or rainy. Tapping a picture, not typing, keeps it a pre-reader tool.
  • The picture fills today's square. Change it any time; the 🧽 clears today. Past days just show their picture.

Why a one-tap journal

Naming a feeling — "affect labelling" — is a foundational early-childhood social-emotional skill, and doing it in one calm daily moment builds emotional vocabulary plus a first sense of a week and a month. (We describe the rationale honestly and claim no measured outcome — TodayTots is a supportive tool, not an intervention or a diagnostic mood tracker.)

No streak, no pressure

There is deliberately no streak, no score, and no "days in a row." A missed day is fine and nothing breaks — a journal that guilts you into keeping it up is a dark pattern, not a habit. Everything is on this device only, with nothing sent anywhere and no notifications.
