About TradePals
TradePals is a first deal-making game for ages 6–8, set in Barter's Market near little Gullwick. You build fair swaps: give a good you have to spare, get the good you're missing, and say what it's for. It's the friendly, fair half of trading — the part a lot of games leave out.
Fair, not greedy
Some games reward the shrewdest trader. TradePals doesn't. Barter's Fair-o-meter is happiest when a swap helps both islanders — so the winning move is always a kind one. There's no clock, no score to chase, and a pal can always say no kindly and offer a better idea instead.
Meet the market pals
- Barter — the badger who runs the market — reads the Fair-o-meter and coaches you toward a swap that helps both islanders
- Vera — loves to swap — never sits on spare goods; shows how a good trade helps both sides at once
- Rafi — the roamer — doesn't need much, so he shows you to offer a good the pal can actually use (or he'll say no kindly)
- Mason — the keen builder — will take a big offer, so he teaches you to keep the Fair-o-meter fair for YOU too
Think it over
After a few deals, notice this: the best swaps weren't the ones where you got the most — they were the ones where you both got closer to a build. Reading what your friend needs, and giving a good you have to spare, is the little idea TradePals is really about.
