About VowelTots

VowelTots helps children ages 3–5 meet the five Vowel Sisters — Ava, Etta, Ivy, Ollie and Uma — by listening. Hear a little word and tap the sister whose sound is in the middle: cat is Ava, dog is Ollie.

Then Magnet-E, a silent e on a magnet, clamps onto the end of a word and the sister sings her name: cap becomes cape. Every vowel has two moods, and this is a gentle first taste of the one that comes later.

It is part of our open Sound Road reading sequence: VowelTots only ever uses words the Sound Road has already taught, so a child never meets a spelling they cannot sound out.

Everything is calm: no score, no streak, no timer, nothing to buy. Everything runs on this device — there are no accounts, and nothing a child does leaves the device.

Honest note for grown-ups: VowelTots is practice, not a promise of a reading level. It grows reading best alongside lots of real books read together.
