Meet the cast
ClauseDojo is text-forward (R-OLDER-TEEN-DN-ADAPTED, ages 15-18) - no illustrated cast; the 'characters' are the clauses you learn to read. RENEWAL is the clause that renews itself and keeps charging you unless you cancel by a deadline - usually earlier than you'd expect. ARBITRATION is the line that quietly takes away your day in court and your right to a class action. FEE is the lock-in, priced so that leaving early feels too expensive to do. CANCEL is how you actually get out: the notice, the deadline, and whether it costs you anything. Redline, the mentor, is the careful reader with the red pen who marks up every contract and never signs one unread - and who insists that a fair, symmetric clause is NOT a trap, because knowing which clauses not to flag is half the skill. Every reading is checked on-device by a deterministic clause engine - nothing hand-waved, nothing leaves the device, and these are synthetic contracts for practice, not legal advice. Illustrated portraits/chapters/audio are N/A for the older-teen band, not a follow-on.
Renewal
The auto-renewal clause: it renews the deal and keeps charging you unless you cancel by a deadline, so you have to act to STOP paying
Arbitration
The line that moves any dispute into private arbitration and waives your class action - you give up suing in court before any dispute exists
Fee
The lock-in: an early-termination fee or penalty priced so that leaving feels too expensive, favouring the company against you
