Meet the cast
FeelingForge is text-forward (R-OLDER-TEEN-DN-ADAPTED, ages 15-18) - no illustrated cast; the 'crew' are the parts of running an emotion experiment the way a scientist does, and each part IS one thing a famous finding has to earn. Litmus is the tester who holds the whole method and asks of every headline, 'a study found it - but did it REPLICATE?' - because a single study is where the question starts, not where it ends. Replica runs the finding again in another lab: if the same result shows up, the claim earns 'held up well.' Null is the honest empty result - the pen-in-your-teeth smile that seventeen labs could not reproduce; Null's act IS refusing to hide a finding that failed. Baseline is your own one-off read - the granularity check that is shown once and never stored, and that counts how PRECISE your words are, never how many. Priming is the seductive part - the effect that FEELS real because you expected it; Priming's act IS the reminder that expectation is not evidence. Illustrated portraits/chapters/audio are N/A for the older-teen band, not a follow-on.
Litmus
(Mentor) - the tester who holds the whole method. Litmus asks of every emotion headline, 'a study found it - but did it REPLICATE?' - a single study is where the question begins, never where it ends.
Replica
Runs a finding again in another lab. When the same result shows up under careful conditions, the claim earns 'held up well'; Replica's act IS the second look that turns a study into a fact you can lean on.
Null
The honest empty result - the famous facial-feedback smile that seventeen labs in 2016 could not reproduce. Null's act IS refusing to bury a finding that failed; a non-result is science working, not a scandal.
Baseline
Your own one-off read - the emotional-granularity check, shown once and never stored. Baseline counts how PRECISE your feeling words are, never how many (fit over count) - precision you can grow, not a score you are stuck with.
Priming
The seductive effect that FEELS real because you expected it to work. Priming's act IS the warning that a trick which seems to help might be your expectation, not the effect the study claimed - doubt is the right response to hype.
