TwoWaysPals

Same answer, two ways. Show 8 + 5 your way with jumps on a rope number line, then Ropeling shows a different way. Which felt easier, and why? Then the grown-up shows their way, and the strip names the school's strategies — making ten, doubles, counting on. Pass-and-play with a grown-up. Ages 6–8.

Built for sittings of about 15 minutes on the screen. That is our design budget, not a measurement.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

Ropeling is a knotted rope who hums when you pluck it and always knows a second way. Jumpkin draws every jump as a chalk arc. Eggtray is the ten-frame, a wooden egg tray with ten cups.

R

Ropeling

(Mentor, a knotted rope) - shows a different way to the same answer, never a better one

J

Jumpkin

A piece of chalk - draws each jump on the rope so you can see your way

E

Eggtray

A wooden egg tray with ten cups - fills to ten so making ten is easy to see
