Playing CluePals together 🔎
CluePals is a clue game for ages 6–8, in the spirit of Just One and Codenames — but solo, gentle, and safe. It teaches one big idea: you can figure out a word from what it makes you think of — a word's meaning, not its spelling.
1 · Hear the three clues
Each puzzle shows three picture clues. Tap a clue, or tap 🔊 Hear the clues, and the app says each one aloud (for milk 🥛, cheese 🧀, grass 🌾 you'd hear "milk… cheese… grass"). The clues describe the mystery word without ever giving it away.
2 · Tap the word they point to
Below the clues are a few picture-words. Which one do all three clues point to? (Milk, cheese, and grass all point to cow 🐄.) Tap it. If it's not quite right, nothing bad happens — you'll hear the clues again and can look once more.
3 · Talk it through side by side
This is a wonderful talking game: ask "what do all three make you think of?" and let your child reason out loud. There's no timer, no score, and nothing to lose — just friendly little mysteries to puzzle out.
