About CrossTots

CrossTots takes the single idea at the heart of crosswords and word games — one letter can belong to two words — and makes it a picture game a three-year-old can play. Two words cross, one letter is missing, and the child finds the letter that finishes both.

Pictures first, letters second

At ages 3–5, children know far more words than they can read. So every word comes with a picture and is spoken aloud — the child recognises the word, then hunts for its letter. It's letter recognition wrapped in a game, with no reading demand.

What it's good for (and what we don't claim)

CrossTots is gentle practice for letter recognition and the crossing idea. It is not a reading program or a brain-training app, and we make no claim it raises IQ or test scores — it's a friendly first step into word games.
