For grown-ups
CurlTots is a paper activity first. Print the ribbon page and cut out the two strips. Your child wraps one strip round a crayon to make a curl, folds the other back and forth into a zigzag, and you tape them together end to end: one ribbon, two shapes.
Then the phone shows the curl and the zigzag for ten seconds and goes to sleep. For you, one line: inside us, tiny chains curl and zigzag like this. Scientists call them helices and sheets. There is no science word for your child to learn yet. The shapes are the point.
The page prints on plain paper and looks fine in black and white. Please do the cutting for little ones.
