About DialPals

What it is

DialPals helps children turn always-or-never feelings into sizes — how much, really? — and then find a fair middle for a problem between two people: take turns, half and half, trade, or wait and both.

Why sizes

Around ages six to eight, children begin to see that most things are not all-good or all-bad. Sizing a feeling makes it easier to talk about, and finding a middle turns a fight into a plan.

What it is not

DialPals never says a feeling is the wrong size. Every size on the dial is okay — the point is to name it.
