About DioramaForge

DioramaForge is a food-web builder: you assemble a biome diorama the way a natural-history museum does — and the scene only works when the ecology holds together.

Why a diorama?

The great habitat halls — the Piney Woods, the African savanna, the Gulf Coast marsh — are more than beautiful scenes. Each one is a claim about who eats whom: a producer catches the sun, herbivores graze it, carnivores hunt them, and decomposers return everything to the soil. DioramaForge turns that into a puzzle where the web is really solvable — the engine proves every biome can form a valid web, so there is always a way to make it hold.

Distinct from a live simulation

This is one still scene done right — not a running ecosystem simulation. You reason about the relationships and get the diorama correct, the way a curator plans a hall, then defend your choices.

What it's good for (and what we don't claim)

DioramaForge is good practice for ecosystem interactions and energy flow (MS-LS2-1, -2, -3) and for the representational craft of a museum diorama (visual arts). It is not a brain-training program and makes no claim it raises IQ or test scores.

Safe by design

  • On your device. Your progress stays in your browser — no account, no sign-in, nothing sent anywhere.
  • No dark patterns. No timer, no streak to lose, no scarcity — just the diorama and the checks.
  • Real ecology. Every species and every food link is a real natural-history relationship; the scenes are drawn schematically, not from any museum’s photos.
