How to play
A natural-history museum builds dioramas — still scenes of a real place — and every scene has to make ecological sense. Your job is to fix the diorama so the food web holds.
The four checks
- A producer captures the sun. Every food web starts with a plant or algae — the only things that make food from sunlight.
- Every animal is fed. A predator needs its prey present in the scene; a grazer needs a plant to eat.
- Everything belongs here. A species has to actually live in this biome (a pelican doesn’t belong in a pine forest).
- It’s a real web. At least three species — a producer, and animals that eat it and each other.
How to build
- Tap a species on the shelf to add it to the diorama; tap a placed one to take it out.
- The checks panel updates live — a ○ means something still needs fixing, and it tells you what.
- When all four checks show ✓, the web holds — read your diorama label and defend three choices.
The roles
- 🌱 Producers — plants and algae that make food from sunlight.
- 🌿 Herbivores — animals that eat plants.
- 🍽️ Omnivores — animals that eat both plants and animals.
- 🐾 Carnivores — animals that eat other animals.
- ♻️ Decomposers — worms, beetles, and microbes that recycle dead matter back to the soil.
What it's good for (and what we don't claim)
DioramaForge builds real understanding of ecosystem interactions and energy flow (MS-LS2). It is not a brain-training program and makes no claim it raises IQ or test scores — it’s the same reasoning a natural-history hall teaches, on your device.
