Fraction fluency is one of the single best predictors of later success in algebra — the “understand-represent-operate-check” loop carries all the way up.
✅ Quick check: For “which is more: 2/3 of 12 or 3/4 of 8?”, what’s your first move before computing?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
Understand it as two “fraction of a whole” multiplications, then compute: 2/3×12=8 vs 3/4×8=6, so 2/3 of 12 is more.
Naming the operation (“of” = multiply) and the wholes before computing prevents errors.
