Discovered & Double Attacks
📋 What it is
Moving ONE piece can unmask a second piece’s attack behind it — a discovered attack. If BOTH pieces attack, it’s a double attack.

The sneakiest weapon on the board. One piece steps aside and reveals a hidden attacker — and if the moving piece gives check too, your opponent can only deal with one threat.

Because moving one piece uncovers a second piece's attack behind it!
😲 Whoa!
A “discovered check” is nearly unstoppable — the moving piece can grab something valuable while the uncovered piece checks the king.
✅ Quick check: You move a knight and it uncovers your bishop giving CHECK, while the knight itself attacks the queen. What can your opponent do?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
Only answer the check — so on your next move you take the queen.
A discovered check forces the king to respond first, leaving the second target unsaved.

Line up your bishop, your own knight in front of it, and the enemy king. Move the knight and see the check appear.
