About HidePals

HidePals is a hide-and-seek game for ages 6–8: hide a figure in a room, then follow a warm/cold heat trail to find it. It’s the calm, safe answer to “play together in a space” — the fun of hiding and seeking, without any of the parts that aren’t safe for kids.

A shared game, kept safe by design

The only way to “talk” is an 8-emoji wheel — there is no chat, no typing, no voice, and no names. You can play solo (the game hides for you) or pass-and-play on one device (one child hides, then hands the device to the seeker). Nothing is sent anywhere.

Honest heat, honest hides

The heat trail is real: the closer you tap to the figure, the warmer it gets, always — the game never lies to you. Every hide the computer makes is guaranteed findable. The three decoys are look-alikes that give off no heat, so you learn to trust the temperature, not your guess.

What it’s good for (and what we don’t claim)

HidePals is gentle practice for spatial reasoning, designing a hide for another player, and taking turns. It is not a lesson or a brain-training app, and we make no claim it raises IQ or test scores.

Safe by design

  • On your device. Everything stays in your browser — no account, nothing sent anywhere.
  • No camera, no photos, no chat, no voice, no names. The only social surface is preset emojis.
  • No ads, no shop, no streaks, no stress timers, no score. Just hide and seek.
