About MemoryForge
MemoryForge teaches memory technique — the codified methods (the method of loci, the Major/PAO number system, card images) that let a memory athlete recall a shuffled deck. It is one of the two classic mind-sport skills (with mental calculation → MentalForge) that the library was missing.
Two ways to practise
- Sprint — pick numbers or words and how many, predict how many you’ll recall, study them, then recall them in order. The engine grades you position by position and shows the gap. Beat your own best — the only score that matters.
- Technique lab — learn the method of loci, the Major number system, and card images, each with a worked example and a short “now you try”.
How it works — and stays honest
- A real engine grades every recall. Every sequence and every match is computed by a deterministic engine — no AI is ever near the content, so the grading can’t be wrong.
- On-device, no accounts. Your practice and your personal best live in this browser only; nothing is sent anywhere (no login, no data leaves the device).
- Calm by design. No stress clock, no streaks to protect, no leaderboard. Study at your own pace; the score you chase is your own previous best.
Honest note: memory technique is a real, learnable skill — and a genuinely useful one. It is a technique to practise, not a shortcut to being “smarter” in general or to better school grades.
