About PlotPals
PlotPals gives ages 6–8 two gentle joys: breeding pretty flowers and tending a little garden. Underneath the play are two honest ideas — one about how living things pass on their looks, and one about a world that grows patiently and never dies.
Real botany, predict-then-reveal
When you cross two flowers, the child predicts the baby colours before they appear. The crosses follow real single-trait inheritance: red can hide white, so a red-and-white pair can make all-red babies, and two red flowers (each secretly carrying white) can make a white baby. We show the pattern, not the jargon — a true first taste of heredity, delivered as a guessing game.
A garden that never dies
The garden runs on a real clock: plant a seed, and it keeps growing while you're away. Crucially, nothing ever wilts — there's no "water it or it dies," no timer to beat, no streak to keep, and nothing to buy. It's a calm, forgiving, persistent little world (we call this the Timer Rule: things only ever grow).
What it's good for (and what we don't claim)
PlotPals is gentle practice for predict-then-reveal reasoning and a first feel for heredity, plus the quiet pleasure of tending something over time. It is not a lesson or a brain-training app, and we make no claim it raises IQ or test scores. It's an honest little garden.
