About PortraitTots
What it is
PortraitTots helps you notice six everyday things over a week, then turns what you saw into a portrait in your own words, grouped by four roots — ears, eyes, body and hands — with what your child loves first and what seems to help beside anything that is hard right now.
Why “right now”
Children move up and back down all the time — tired, hungry, new places. “Hard right now” describes this week, not who your child is.
What it is not
PortraitTots is not a screening or a diagnosis, and it gives no scores. If you have a concern about your child’s development, talk with your pediatrician or a child-development professional.

A note for grown-ups
PortraitTots is Developmental (FEDC-informed) — informed by the functional-emotional developmental-capacities tradition of thinking about individual differences and relationships. All the words here are our own; PortraitTots is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any organization or program in that tradition. It is a conversation starter, not an assessment, a diagnosis, or therapy.
