For grown-ups
PourTots is a water table on a screen, and then at your sink. Two cups hold the same water. One is poured into a tall thin jar, and your child guesses which has more.
Most children under six say the tall jar has more. That is normal and it is not a mistake to fix quickly. The point is to pour, be surprised, and hear you ask: how could we check? Pouring the water back into the same-size cup is the check.
The third pair really does hold different amounts, so 'the same' is not always the answer. Checking is.
This is Piaget's conservation task and every nursery's water table. When the jars are done, the phone asks you to try it with two cups at the sink and then goes quiet. There is no score and nothing leaves this device.
