For grown-ups

RungPals is a placement game: each number has to go on a rung right away, before you know what comes next. Each choice is a small number-line estimate plus a guess about what is still in the bag.

Why it teaches: linear number games have unusually good early-maths evidence behind them (Siegler & Ramani). We claim the mechanism, not a measured gain.

Everyone gets the same draw, so differences come from choices, not luck. The bag is see-through: every number still in it is shown. No timer, no score to beat, no streak. Today's ten is the same for everyone and never expires.

What it never does

  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking — anything kept stays on this device.
  • No streaks, timers to beat, points to chase or leaderboards.
  • No chat, and nothing anyone types is sent anywhere.

We describe what RungPals is designed to practise. We do not claim it raises test scores.
