For grown-ups

SwarmQuest is for a room with one big screen. You run it; the children point. Each round shows a picture for a few seconds — a cloud of dots, a shaded bar or an angle — and then everyone points to where they think the answer is on a number line. You tap each pointed guess onto the line.

When you press reveal, two markers drop together: the true answer and the room's middle guess (the median). Often the middle of a crowd is closer than most of the people in it. Sometimes it is not, and that is worth talking about too.

Nothing is typed, named or saved. There is one room result per round, never a ranking of children. A version where every child uses their own device needs a thirty-seat room, which we have not built yet; this one-screen version works today.

What it never does

  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking — anything kept stays on this device.
  • No streaks, timers to beat, points to chase or leaderboards.
  • No chat, and nothing anyone types is sent anywhere.

We describe what SwarmQuest is designed to practise. We do not claim it raises test scores.
