About TourneyForge
TourneyForge is a tournament director you host yourself. Pick a format, add players by nickname, and it pairs, times, scores and keeps the wall-chart — turning any game into an event. It is the backbone that makes the whole library event-ready: the same host runs a maths bee, a strategy knockout, or a Friday round-robin.
How it protects kids
- On-device, no server, no accounts. The event lives in this browser only; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Boards, never children. Results are recorded against board numbers and nicknames — never a real name or a persistent identifier (COPPA).
- No leaderboard economy. Standings are informational and calm — no streaks, no scarcity, no points-to-chase. The occasion is the reward.
The formats — all free modes of one engine
- Round-robin — everyone plays everyone once; standings by points (win 1, draw ½).
- Single-elimination — a seeded knockout bracket to one champion, with byes handled automatically.
- Swiss — score-group pairing with rematch-avoidance for a big field in few rounds.
- Teams · Games · Tournaments — players compete on teams but at ability-matched tables, so a struggling player can earn the same top points as anyone else. Tables self-correct with “bumping” between rounds. This is the calm, everyone-can-win default (based on Slavin’s TGT).
- All-rounder league — play several different games; your best games from different games combine into one league, so breadth beats specialising.
- Junior Mind-Sports Olympiad — the all-rounder league pre-set as a mind-sports meet: a handful of thinking games, one occasion.
Coming next: printable pairing sheets and certificates, and a bee / buzzer host — all as free formats of this one engine.
Honest note: TourneyForge helps you run real events with no setup and no data leaving the device. It is an occasion, not a proven learning boost.
