About WhyPals

What it is

WhyPals turns cause and effect in stories into a game. After a tiny story, Whyatt, Whynn and Whyla each offer a reason. The reader picks the ones that could be true, adds one of their own, and ranks which is mostly why. Then they check the clue the story gives.

Why “mostly”

Thinking of many reasons is great — but some reasons matter more than others. Asking which is mostly why keeps the thinking honest and ties it back to what the text says.

For grown-ups

Try it with any bedtime story: “Why did that happen? What else could be a reason? Which is mostly why?”
