For grown-ups
WobbleForge is about something real scientists say all the time: a measurement has a spread. Your child times ten swings of a home-made pendulum, three times, and sees the three answers differ a little. Then they change one thing, the weight or the string length, and time three more.
If the two sets of times overlap, the difference is within the wobble. A heavier weight does not change the swing time; a string four times as long doubles it. The app also shows the textbook model, T = 2π√(L/g), to compare with.
For the tree, your child counts paces and reads the tilt to the treetop: the phone's tilt sensor works only after a permission tap, and a slider always works instead. The phone is never swung. Nothing is sent anywhere.
