Meet the cast
GistForge's summary-loss crew (ages 9–14). A short summary FEELS like the idea but silently drops the parts that carry its meaning — so this crew guards the five kinds of idea a summary loses. The mentor Tote is a novice who reads ONLY your card and holds exactly what your words carried; whatever Tote cannot hold is what your summary dropped, and each keeper shows the loss they guard. Guards the number — the exact amount a summary drops: how much, how many, how far. Figg always asks 'How many? How much? How far?'
Onlee
Guards the caveat — the 'only when' condition that stops an overclaim. Onlee always asks 'Is it always true, or only when…?'
Causa
Guards the cause — the 'because' behind the what, the reason a summary leaves out. Causa always asks 'But WHY did that happen?'
Nomi
Guards the who — the agent or the source: who did it, or who says so. Nomi always asks 'Who did it? Who says so?'
Otho
Guards the contrast — the 'unlike' or 'on the other hand' a summary flattens. Otho always asks 'Compared to what? Unlike what?'
Tote
(Mentor) — a novice who reads ONLY your card and holds only what your words carried, like a bag that holds only what you packed. What Tote cannot hold is exactly what your summary left behind — that is how you see the loss. Tote never writes for you.
