NashForge

Think one move ahead of everyone — a game-theory / strategic-reasoning game for ages 15–18. Play short strategic games, then discover dominant strategies, mixed strategies, and Nash equilibria by playing first and theorizing after — and apply them to real dilemmas like climate cooperation and pricing wars.

Built for sittings of about 25 minutes on the screen. That is our design budget, not a measurement.

Characters who teach

Meet the cast

NashForge's characters are realistic people, not mascots, and each one shows one idea from game theory. Dahlia plays the best move no matter what, Elena finds the point neither side wants to leave, Cai and Dex act out the choice between cooperating and betraying, Tao repeats your last move, and Remy mixes moves to stay unpredictable. Zara, Ines, and Auggie cover whether the pie can grow, reasoning backward from the end, and designing fair rules. Thalia is the mentor who sets each goal and helps your teen reflect.

D

Dahlia

Dominant strategy — plays the best move regardless of what the opponent does

E

Elena

Nash equilibrium — finds the stable point neither side wants to leave

C

Cai

Cooperation (prisoner's dilemma) — chooses the mutual-best cooperative move

D

Dex

Defection (prisoner's dilemma) — takes the tempting individual defect (Cai + Dex = the PD case)

T

Tao

Iterated / tit-for-tat — mirrors your last move across rounds, building reputation

R

Remy

Mixed strategy — randomizes to stay unpredictable (the penalty-kick mixer)

Z

Zara

Zero-sum vs non-zero-sum — reads whether the pie is fixed or can grow

I

Ines

Backward induction — reasons from the end of the game tree back to now

A

Auggie

Mechanism / auction design — designs rules so honesty is the best policy

T

Thalia

Mentor — sets a strategic goal, plays, and guides reflect-on-strategy (the AAR guide)
