PawnPals

Learn-to-Play Chess for Ages 3-8 — one piece at a time, through story. Poppy the pawn and friends show how each piece moves via audio-first, pre-reader minigames, with correct checkmate (never capture-the-king).

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

PawnPals's younger-cluster cast (ages 3-8; hero-anchored Pattern B) is 6 warm, personified chess pieces in the shared chess-world Pawnmeadow — each character's STORY IS its piece's movement (R-DN-PARITY, the Story-Time-Chess model, calibrated to a pre-reader register). Poppy the pawn-kid is the protagonist; the others are Poppy's friends on the board. Distinct, younger-calibrated characters that share GambitTales' (9-14) structural piece-mapping + world but NEVER reuse its tween personas (R-YOUNGER-SPAWN-SHARED-UNIVERSE-NOT-VERBATIM). Each carries a say-out-loud movement mnemonic. Checkmate is taught gently as trapped-and-safe (the king is never captured/removed). World-name Pawnmeadow is ours (never Story Time Chess's trademarked Chesslandia; R-NO-COMPETITOR-OWNED-TERMS).
