The Decision

Weigh it: what is this design really optimising for? (reveal the honest upside and catch — then it’s your call, no score)

Design your own tracker

Flip the five switches. Every choice has an upside and a catch; there is no right design.

Nothing here is saved or sent: close the page and it is gone.

      Now audit our own apps

Two Spark & Anvil apps keep a small private log. Here is every switch from the checklist, and the choice each one made.

      TempCheck

A check-in for big and small feelings. Nothing is kept unless you tap “Keep it for a week”.

      Streaks
None. Missing a day changes nothing.
      Reminders
None. It never sends a notification.
      Cloud
Only on this device, in this browser’s storage. It shows the last seven days; older ones stay stored until you next keep a check-in or tap Clear.
      AI “insights”
None. It shows your own taps back to you, including which feeling came up most; it never says what they mean.
      Sharing
Nobody else — but anyone using this device could open “Show my week”, and it says so before you keep anything.
      Export
No. The week can be seen and cleared, not taken away as a file.
      Delete
Yes: “Clear my check-ins” empties it at once. Days older than a week are removed the next time you keep one — not on a timer.

      WellnessForge

A calm mood check-in with the same rule: nothing kept unless you choose a private week.

      Streaks
None, by design — there is nothing to keep up.
      Reminders
None. It never sends a notification.
      Cloud
Only on this device, in this browser’s storage. It shows the last seven days; older ones stay stored until you next keep a mood or tap Clear.
      AI “insights”
None. No insights or trends; it shows the moods you kept, nothing more.
      Sharing
Nobody else — but anyone using this device could open “Show my week”, and it says so before you keep anything. It is never open by default.
      Export
No. You can see and clear your week, not download it.
      Delete
Yes: “Clear my week” empties it at once. Days older than a week are removed the next time you keep one — not on a timer.

What would you change? Pick one switch and say what you would do differently — and who it would help.

Say it, or jot it on paper — nothing is typed or kept here.

LogQuest weighs the decision; it does not run a tracker. Nothing you consider here is ever saved — that is the whole point. A science surface about mood data, not a measure of you.
