How are you feeling?
How to play — trace, claim, span
Trace a word Tap a tile, then a touching tile — spell a real word (3+ letters).
Claim the path Every tile you crossed becomes yours — then say what the word means.
Span your sides Join the top edge to the bottom with your tiles to win. Words run low? It turns into pure Hex.

Meet the cast — the characters who teach this
-
Stilt the stilt-bird — he steps only where the words are: trace a real word to claim the path. -
Bittern the bittern — she holds the bridge: keep two links that share a way across. -
Wader the avocet — she says a word’s meaning before it counts: the Meaning Rule. -
Snipe the snipe — she zig-zags to cut off your rival’s shortest way across. -
Plover the plover — she only grows her path from tiles she already holds. -
Curlew the curlew — she reaches across a gap with a letter two words share. -
Godwit the godwit — he reads NG, CH or TH as one step: two letters, one tile. -
Reeve the reeve — when two words want the same tile, the longer real word wins it. -
Dunlin the dunlin — when the good words run dry, the board becomes pure Hex. -
Skimmer the skimmer — don’t know a word yet? That’s fine; she shows its meaning so everyone can play.
