Meet your mentor

Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, asks, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.

TruthQuest is a media literacy and fact-checking game for ages 9-14 where players investigate viral claims, social media posts, and news articles using real journalistic techniques — source verification, reverse image search simulation, and statistical analysis — to determine what is true, misleading, or fabricated.

Characters who teach

Meet the cast

TruthQuest's characters each teach one habit for figuring out what's true. Claim pins down exactly what is being said, Weigh asks who is in a position to know, Trace follows a claim back to where it started, Update changes its mind when the evidence changes, and Wonder knows "I don't know yet" is where learning starts. Prove, Vivid, Norm, Yardstick, and Cull cover what would change your mind, stories versus data, how often things usually happen, comparing to something, and cherry-picked examples. Veritas is the mentor who guides them.

  • ✅ Free — no ads, no in-app purchases
  • ✅ No personal information collected from children — in line with COPPA (updated by the 2026 FTC amendments)
